The trip from Davao to Cagayan de Oro I made the other week was monumental for me – it was the first time I flew solo with Euna. I was worried that it was going to be tiring (and it was) but at the end, it felt so liberating. I’ve finally proven to myself that, yes, I can do it, fly solo with my little girl, albeit looking like a Christmas tree. I was lugging my trusty huge black sports bag to contain my 2 kilogram laptop, Euna’s stuff and mine, and another bag for my dslr. Thanks to my Saya (baby carrier), I was able to hand carry all these and Euna. If I can do it, then you can too. Wonder how?

Having help before and after the flight and allot ample time before departure. My in-law’s were with us at the airport and they took care of Euna while I checked in our baggage first. After which, I paid for the terminal fee in advance so that I won’t have to when I have Euna with me. It was around this time that I saw the breastfeeding station sign at the Davao airport. It was situated in between the female restroom and the terminal fee counter.

Is where my uncle-in-law’s birthday was held. From what I’ve read, it’s one of the first to offer buffet to davaoenos (now you understand why I usually link buffet with eat-all-you can? Read post on another buffet set-up here. I think majority of Filipinos think this way – say 90%.)

Due to the 8 hour delay, we were given Mabuhay Class seats for our flight which was a first time for me. As you might have read from my previous posts, all my flight experiences are always economy as I couldn’t afford the price tag for the business and elite classes. So even if I had a stressful day, I still had the energy (running on endorphins) to document this as it was still all new to me. Haha!

I am here right now at the Mabuhay lounge typing my time away. Was supposed to be in Davao 4 hours earlier but our flight was bumped to 4:00 pm and it’s again bumped to 5:30. Aircraft failure or something to that effect is the said cause. I’ve just recently blogged about my PAL international flight experience but this is pits. My daughter is stressed and I am as well. Hope 5:30 it already is. Goodluck to us. More on the story later.

Joniels Davao Moist Chocolate Cake

While still on the topic of Davao desserts, have you tried Joniel’s moist chocolate cake? My in-laws bought one for my daughter’s 5th month birthday and I must say I’m liking it. Too bad the above picture doesn’t do the cake justice (It didn’t escape unscathed during the travel from Davao to Manila). I am no chocolate cake connoisseur but I found the cake to be moist with just the right spring. It’s not overly sweet and slathered with just the right amount of icing. As I’ve said, I’m liking it. Here’s a slice for you.
