I am a mother, a photography hobbyist whose favorite subject is her daughter, currently unemployed (but not for long). Everything that you see and read here at Hungry for the World is my own original work unless stated otherwise. I’ve never been compensated for what I’ve written here. Most likely, the unsung and uncredited photographer in this website would be my husband. Of course, post-processing credit still goes to me.
I must say that I have an unsatiable thirst (so far) to experience everything that this world has to offer: from food, to seeing (and being photographed at) famous landmarks, to experiencing different cultures, and to experiencing the bizarre and the unexplainable. I try, as much as I could, to do all these while juggling the realities and responsibilities of the married life and motherhood. My initial plan (before I got married) to achieve this was to work in one country for a year or two, experience as much of the country as much as I can, and then move on to another. This is very much doable in my field of work but considering the changes, I might have to cut some stays short or lengthen others. We’ll see how that works out. One thing is certain: I will definitely keep writing here and I will definitely still try to experience as much as I can.
In line with this, I have become aware and (more) troubled with the changes that I’ve observed. A lot of calamities coming our way, climate changes, typhoons, hurricanes, earthquakes, excessive noxious emissions, excessive garbage, population explosion. Growing up, I never threw my trash anywhere. Lately, I’ve been taking steps to do more than that. Having my daughter use biodegradable nappies is the first step among others. I am also starting to bring my own water bottle with me so that I don’t end up buying disposable bottled water. I am hoping that in the future, I will be able to do something that will leave a tangible and lasting impact on the way we are currently using and disposing things.
Hungry for the World is a one-woman show. I do the maintenance and improvements of the site as well. I am still undecided whether to put advertisements in my website. For the time-being, enjoy my website as it is – ad-free. UPDATE 05-May-2010: Have added minimal ads. I don’t think it interferes with the posts in any way, as I’ve said, minimal. Enjoy!
Take care for now. xoxo
